Fascinating Fascism is a video essay assembled from fragments of films by Arnold Fanck and Leni Riefenstahl. Inspired by Susan Sontag's essay of the same title, the work examines how bodies, landscape, spectacle, and ideals of strength are organized within fascist aesthetics. By recombining these cinematic fragments, the video traces how this visual language was taking shape in German cinema before the Second World War.
